What we collect
Your email address, mobile number, display name, time zone and notification preferences, plus the competitions you join and the picks you make.
Your password
We never store your password. We keep only a scrambled version (a salted scrypt hash) that can check a password but can’t be turned back into one. Nobody at Holdout can see your password.
Who can see it
Other players in your competitions see your display name, your status and your picks once they lock. Your email address and mobile number are never shown to other players, including organisers.
We ask for your mobile number so we can send WhatsApp updates about your competitions. We only message you on WhatsApp if you opt in, and we record when you did. You can opt out at any time in Settings.
Emails
We send deadline reminders and results. You can turn each type off in your settings.
Payments
We do not process payments and never collect bank or card details.
Your rights
You can ask us to export or delete your data at any time. Contact details will be added before launch.
